Breaking! No Atletico Madrid return for Chelsea outcast as Diego Simeone rule out move

Wantaway Chelsea striker Diego Costa was left in limbo on Sunday evening after his former manager Diego Simeone ruled out a return to La Liga club Atletico Madrid.

Diego Costa does not have a future at Stamford Bridge after falling out with Chelsea’s head Coach Antonio Conte.

The hot-tempered striker is desperate to return to La Liga side Atletico Madrid, where he was more-or-less a cult hero before joining the West London club.

But speaking after Athletico Madrid’s’ 3-2 friendly victory over Premier League new boys Brighton, Coach Simeone stated: “I don’t want to comment too much. The fact is he (Coste) is still with Chelsea.

“The most important thing to me (Simeone) is the work of my club (Athletico Madrid) in general, not only in training. I have to work with what (the players) I have.”

The La Liga club are subject to a transfer ban, so would not be able to buy the Chelsea outcast until the embargo is lifted in the month of January.

The Athletico Madrid manager added: “When I (Simeone) found there was no other possibility to get new players at the club I (Simeone) accepted it.

“Maybe I (Simeone) could improve the quality, but at the moment with this team, I (Simeone) can work very well, and I am satisfied with that.”
