According to reports, Merseyside giant Everton will switch attentions to England forward Danny Welbeck if they fail in their pursuit to land Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud.
Everton have enjoyed a busy summer transfer window and wanted to conclude their transfer business with the unsettled Giroud.
The 30-year-old is waiting to see how many minutes he get to feature in Arsene Wenger’s plans at the North London club, after the signing of Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon.
And now British publication the Mirror are reporting that Everton boss Ronald Koeman will switch his attention to Welbeck if he fails to land his prime target.
The Toffees are looking for a new striker as they head into the new Premier League season.
The Everton boss wants a new striker to play in front of former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney after selling Belgian Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United for a whopping £75million.
The Merseysider’s also signed Sandro Ramirez, but still want a genuine striker to lead the attack line.
The Gunners would be requesting for a transfer fee of around £30m for Welbeck.
That proposed fee would be almost double the £16 million they paid to sign him from Manchester United three years ago.
