Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has penned a fresh deal with the Premier League team. His previous deal with the Old Trafford outfit was due to expire yesterday.
Man United confirm deal
Manchester United confirmed the news via the clubs official website that the midfielder has agreed a deal that will see him remain at the Premier league side until 2020, with the clause to extend by a further one year.
According to The Mail, the 30-year-old has signed a new contract, that will see him earn €113,000-weekly i.e. the midfielder will pocket about €12million in the next two seasons.
Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho has been a big fan of the ex-Everton midfield maestro and the former Real Madrid and Chelsea boss was clearly glad about the fact that the big-hair man decided to extend his deal.
Injury setback last term
In the last season, the Belgium international missed a number of matches due to injury problems and could just play 23 matches for his side. More importantly, the Belgian only started 7 matches across all competitions and contributed in a total of 6 goals.
The Manchester United manager mainly play Fellaini from the bench to influence games and his role in the team will possibly remain the same next term as we expect new recruit Fred to start matches alongside Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba in United’s midfield.
