Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has berated the pitch ahead of the Blues’ Europa League last 16 second leg clash with Dynamo Kiev on Thursday night.
In his pre-match thoughts, Sarri told reporters that the Olympic Stadium pitch in Kiev is bad and his player Willian also echoed his opinion on the match venue.
According to Sarri, the Kiev pitch is a disaster.
Chelsea are one of the major contenders to win the Europa League this term and they are in a fantastic position to secure qualification for the quarterfinals.
Alongside the West London giants, Arsenal, Napoli and Inter Milan are also widely regarded as favourites for the competition.
Chelsea thrashed Dynamo Kiev 3-0 in their first leg clash at Stamford Bridge last Thursday and should not have much problem in seeing out the game in Kiev.
The forward trio of Pedro Rodriguez, Willian and Hudson-Odoi found the back of the net in the first meeting between the two sides and they are expected to play some part in Kiev.
Star players Eden Hazard and Gonzalo Higuain didn’t feature in the first leg and they are not expected to play any part again with the main focus on the Premier League clash against Everton at the weekend.
