Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri has revealed that the players are fearful that star forward Eden Hazard might leave the club for Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

Emerson told Sky Sports that the Chelsea players are scared that the Belgian international could walk out on the club this summer with his current Blues deal expected to run out next summer.

Eden Hazard has less than 18 months on his present Chelsea contract meaning that the club might need to make a decision of either selling or dropping him.

They risk losing him for free if he doesn’t sign a new contract.

By the summer, Hazard would have just one year left on his current Chelsea deal.

The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid who recently reappointed Zinedine Zidane as their manager.

Zidane is Hazard’s football idol and the Frenchman has returned to take charge of the Los Merengues.

Eden Hazard has openly hinted about a possible dream of playing for Real Madrid who are also keen to sign him if widespread reports are anything to go by.

He has scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions for the Blues.
