Sheffield youngster George Hirst has been in the news recently due to his links with some top premier league sides including Manchester United and Leicester City.
And according to new reports, Jose Mourinho’s side are on the verge of beating Leicester to the player’s signature ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
The talented player broke into his current side’s first-team in 2016 and has played twice at the top stage. The 19-year-old is however expected to leave Sheffield Wednesday at the end of this season.
Hirst rejected a new deal to extend his stay at Wednesday, and he is yet to play a single game for them this term so far.
It appears his next destination is Manchester United. According to reports, the Old Trafford club are closing in on getting the forward’s signature. It was even added that Manchester United are confident of getting a deal done.
The English star has been heavily linked with a move to Leicester City in time past, but Manchester United are now firm favourites to get his signature at the end of this season.
The teenager, who has played for his country at various youth levels, dreams of playing in the first-team at Old Trafford.
His representatives made it known that he desires to move to Manchester United at the end of the term.
