Manager ‘Warns’ Manchester United About £52m Top Target

Barcelona star player Samuel Umtiti has been heavily linked with a move away from Camp Nou this summer, with speculations that Manchester United are set to do all it takes to get his signature.

Recently, it was rumoured Barcelona won’t mind selling him to the highest bidder at the end of the season, and that they are already making plans on bringing in a new replacement when summer comes.

However, in a different twist of events, Barca boss Ernesto Valverde has insisted he is keen on keeping the Frenchman at Camp Nou.

Some hours ago, the France international himself made it known talks for a new deal have not yet begun between himself and the La Liga heavyweights.

Samuel also admitted he was attracting interest from various big sides across the continent.

Umtiti has a £52million release clause in his current contract at Camp Nou – which Manchester United are set to trigger at the end of this season to bring him down to Old Trafford.

However, the player’s current manager at Barca has warned the red devils not to add too much meaning to Samuel’s recent statements and that the player is very much happy at Camp Nou.

Valverde said he expects the negotiation to become a success as he wants Umtiti to stay at Barcelona ‘for years’
