Star Player: Why I Chose Chelsea Ahead Of Manchester United

Everyone saw Arjen Robben’s spell at Chelsea before he moved to Real Madrid and then Bayern Munich. But things could have been quite different for the Dutch superstar.

The talented player made it known he could have become a Manchester United player in 2004 before he joined Chelsea.

Robben revealed he was on the verge of moving to Old Trafford after discussing with Sir Alex Ferguson.

The former PSV Eindhoven player moved to West London for £12M to win the premier league with manager Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge on two consecutive occasions.

But he recently made it known he could have found himself at Manchester United had it been the red devils quickly gave him an offer before he left PSV.

Robben said he had a successful conversation with Sir Alex over dinner in England and they both discussed about football.

Robben also revealed how he was taken around the training ground at Manchester United, and being impressed with the things he saw, he was ready to sign any deal the red devils would offer.

Unfortunately, when he was back at PSV, no contract was presented by Manchester United, and then there came Chelsea who quickly completed a deal for him.

The Netherlands international went on to play for Real Madrid and Bayern Munich where he won alot of trophies in his successful career.
