Liverpool Potential Target Hold Talks With Rival

Ivorian and Atalanta midfielder Frank Kessie, who is a strong Liverpool target, has held talks with English Premier League (EPL) leaders Chelsea through his agent according to reports emanating from the Italian media.

According to Correire dello Sport, his representative Georges Atangana met with Chelsea officials in London to talk about the potential transfer of the player to Stamford Bridge ahead of the January transfer window, which is scheduled to open on the 1st of January, 2017 despite the interest from league title rivals Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have been strongly linked with Frank Kessie for the past weeks with a fee of around £22.5m mooted as the transfer fee that would be required for him to leave his Italian Serie A side Atalanta when the transfer window opens.

Frank Kessie rose to prominence this season in the Italian league following series of impressive performances in the blue and black colours of Atalanta thus helping them to 6th spot on the log behind the likes of Juventus, AS Roma and AC Milan.

If he completes his move to the EPL in the January transfer window the 19-year old won’t be able to feature till the first week of February as he is expected to feature for Ivory Coast at the 2017 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
