Chelsea set to rival Everton and City for Nice sensation

Premier League Champions Chelsea are keen on signing Nice star Jean Seri, as are English rivals Everton and table-toppers Manchester City.

The Ivorian international midfielder was a pivotal part of his club’s success in the French Ligue 1 last campaign and he came close to signing for Spanish La Liga giants FC Barcelona after that.

Manchester City are in search for a top midfielder to replace ageing Yaya Toure, who should leave the Manchester club next summer.

Seri was linked with a transfer to the Catalan club throughout the summer transfer window but a move failed to materialize. Ligue 1 rivals PSG have also shown an interest.

FC Barcelona had a £35 m offer turned down for the versatile midfielder who is now up for sale for only £25 million.

He was said to be interested in a transfer to Spain but has also shown his interest in an English Premier League switch in the past also.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has also formerly shown his interest in the Nice star, but the North London club failed to make an official bid during the summer transfer window.

Lucien Favre’s team struggled during the start of the current League season but has seen them return to form in recent weeks.
