Former chief makes Arsenal defender no.1 target

Former Arsenal chief Ivan Gazidis is set to begin his first major job at his new side, the Italian Serie A outfit AC Milan by doing deals in the coming summer transfer window and has identified Shkodran Mustafi as his first wish for a defender.

The Italian Serie A outfit suffered a bad defence this season, even if they were rated to have had the fifth-best defence in the league as they suffered some poor results.

Ivan Gazidis who just parted ways with the North London team is now set to return for the signature of the former Valencia player.

It is claimed that the Gunners team will seek to part ways with Shkodran Mustafi owing to his poor result at the club having committed some blunders that contributed to the reason why Arsenal failed to qualify for the Champions League with a top-four finish in the league.

However, it is learned that AC Milan will have Shkodran Mustafi for a few of ÂŁ17 million which would be a good bargain for a player as experienced as the former Valencia defender.

Shkodran Mustafi has had a two-year spell in the Serie A with Sampdoria in the past which makes it a good business for AC Milan, knowing that he will not be new to the league to help him settle properly.

Meanwhile, the Gunners team will be playing their last game of the season which could also be the last English Premier League game for Shkodran Mustafi.
