Middlesbrough are closing in on Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford, according to reports.
The 23-year-old was recalled from his loan move with Burnley which was cut short due to his lack of chances. it is understood that the striker is now ready to leave again for a move to Middlesbrough and has already traveled to have a medical ahead of a £10 million move.
Bamford had enjoyed a successful spell with Boro in the 2014/15 season and will hope to continue in same fashion when he returns in the January transfer window.
The striker is set to be one of Chelsea’s youngster to move to another club after failing to break into the first team.
In related development, Blues young keeper Jamie Cumming has signed his first professional contract at the Stamford Bridge.
The 17-year-old keeper took to the social media to announce the news after signing a three-year contract with Chelsea.
He said: “Happy to have signed my first professional contract with @ChelseaFC. “Hard work continues.”
Cummins has been a key figure for Chelsea’s U-17 side and his profile on the club website reads: “Jamie Cumming is a talented goalkeeper from Eastleigh who has been at the club since he was an Under-8 in our development centre programme.
“He is a bright boy off the pitch and is a technically sound, good shot-stopper.”
