Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has made it known that the trio of Marcos Rojo, Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic could play against Newcastle United on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola’s Man City have extended their lead at the top of the premier league table with eight points, and Mourinho is having difficulties closing down the gap due to injuries to a handful of his top players.

In recent weeks, his side are lacking the fluency and creativity we saw with them at the beginning of this season, especially since Paul Pogba sustained an injury during their 3-0 win over Basel in the Champions League last September.

And Mourinho, when recently asked which of his men with injuries are to be expected against Rafa Benitez’s side at Old Trafford this Saturday, bluntly named Pogba, Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo.

Pogba returned to first team training a few days back and is now set to take back his place in his side’s engine room for the Newcastle game.

Zlatan, who injured his knee against Anderlecth last season in the Europa League, has undergone a rehabilitation process and will now contest with Lukaku for a spot in the first team.

Marcos hasn’t played a single game for Jose Mourinho’s side since he got injured back in April, but he was able to feature for 45 minutes in a reserve team game against Athletic Bilbao on Thursday.
