Benjamin Mendy

It appears Manchester United defender Luke Shaw is now out of favour for manager José Mourinho . It seem the left-back would exist Old Trafford in the summer.

A new report from the Independent stated that Manchester United will be open to listening to offers for the Englishman. This season so far, the 21-year-old has made 13 appearances for side. He hasn’t  been featured in a league game since 29 October.

Coach Jose Mourinho is reportedly unhappy with his progress and will listen to offers for the left-back in the summer.

And it appears the Portuguese tactician is already planning for life without Shaw as reports from Tuttomercato indicates that highly rated Monaco defender Benjamin Mendy is on Mourinho’s radar.

The red devils have been plotting a potential transfer for the French defender throughout this month and the player himself is reportedly interested in making the move to Old Trafford in the near future.

However, if United really wants Mendy, they must move quickly to get him as the report additionally stated that Napoli could also make a move for the French U-21 international in the summer.

He signed a five-year deal with Monaco when  he joined them from Marseille in 2016. The Ligue 1 side could definitely demand high transfer fee for him. He has, this season so far, made 14 appearances in all competitions for Monaco.

Mourinho is known as the type of coach who would rather sign an established international player that would make life easier for him. So if United scouts haven’t watched him enough and spotted genuine potential in him, it is highly unlikely that Mourinho would sign an inexperienced player to strengthen his defensive department.
