Mesut Ozil is asking for the impossible from Arsenal to sign new deal

Arsenal attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil wants the outfit to hand him Jack Wilshere’s No.10 jersey before penning any new contract with the side.

The Germany international playmaker is out of a deal when this season ends and he is free to sign a pre-contract deal with a foreign side in the New Year.

North London giant Arsenal had been sure of keeping the German at the club and making him sign a new long-term contract given the lack of offers last summer but Mesut Ozil wants a big wage rise and is now needed by Premier League rivals Manchester United.

The Ex-Real Madrid star has recently been handed Germany’s No.10 jersey after forward Lukas Podolski’s retirement and Ozil wants the same at the Emirates to even consider signing a new contract, as per The Sun.

Mesut Ozil’s brand is based on the ’10’ Jersey and he’s constantly talked about how much he would like the Jersey number at the North London club. The attacker was said to be heavily disappointed that the Jersey number was not made available when Jack Wilshere joined AFC Bournemouth on loan last season.

Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in signing Mesut Ozil and could make an offer in the new year to avoid a rush next summer.

United might be able to offer the German the No.10 Jersey with Swede star Zlatan Ibrahimovic expected to leave next summer.
