Arenal track fullbacks as fear of losing Bellerin to Barcelona grows

Arsenal are reportedly pondering moves for two-right backs amid fears Hector Bellerin will be joining LA Liga giants Barcelona.

The Gunners have on Sunday been linked with a £15million swoop for Albania ace Elseid Hysaj, while Bayern Munich’s Rafinha, 30, is also reportedly on the Gunners’ list of targets.

Barcelona are in the race to sign a new right-back with Dani Alves leaving for Juventus and are reportedly keen on their former academy star Bellerin, who did little to dampen talk of a return to his former club when asked recently.

Arsenal, are therefore, reportedly drawing up a list of potential targets should Barcelona move for for Bellerin and Napoli right-back Hysaj, who played in his country’s opening Euro 2016 clash against Switzerland on Saturday, is the name at the top of his list, according to the Daily Star on Sunday .

Arsene Wenger has been hugely impressed by Hysaj’s displays in Serie A during the last 12 months and is poised to confirm his interest with a concrete offer for a player, who is rated as one Europe’s brightest young defensive talents.

The Gunners boss is desperate to bolster his options in both full-back positions and believes versatile Hysaj who can just as easily slot in on the left side would give him exactly that.

Ironically, La Liga giants Barcelona are also watching Hysaj closely, while both Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly keen too.

In an ideal world, however, Wenger would love to have both Bellerin and Hysaj at the Emirates next season.

France international Mathieu Debuchy, fed up with playing second fiddle to Bellerin, seems certain to quit Arsenal after Euro 2016.

And with England Under-21 defender Callum Chambers likely to be loaned out, Wenger must bring in quality reinforcements.

Hysai, who cost Napoli £5m from Empoli in June 2015, is not the only right-back on the radar, according to paper.

Bayern Munich’s Brazil defender Rafinha, 30, is another potential target for Wenger, according to sources close to the German title winners
