Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly interested in signing Ghanaian star Frank Acheampong, who plays for Belgian side Anderlecht, to bolster his squad with the January transfer window around two weeks away from opening on the 1st of January, 2017.
Klopp has openly discussed the prospects of strengthening his attacking options at Anfield and is now targeting the 23-year old, who can play as a left sided defender or a left winger, according to popular news outlet The Sun. The report further added that the Ghanaian utility player is valued at a cheap fee of £6m considering the way the transfer market is at the moment.
Liverpool are without a shadow of doubt at the front of the queue though other sides like English championship club Newcastle United and fellow top flight side Sunderland, both from the North East of England, are also interested in him.
Any Liverpool move for Acheampong would however be affected directly or indirectly by the fact that he would be away with the Black Stars of Ghana for more than a month as he is set to feature for his country at the 2017 African Cup Of Nations (AFCON) in Gabon from January 14, 2017 to February 5, 2017.
