Watford bid rejected in attempt to snap up Arsenal target

North London outfit Arsenal still have the opportunity to land the signature of their star target and French Ligue 1 outfit Rennes star Ismaila Sarr in this summer transfer window.

This is after it was reported that Watford had made an attempt on the star player but their bid was rejected.

A number of teams have been linked with the signature of the star player but Arsenal still stand a chance to land the Senegal international should they submit a meaningful bid before the end of the summer transfer window.

The Senegal international had an impressive year in Ligue 1 and was expected to join the Gunners in January but a deal failed to go through.

France Football, therefore, report that Watford had their attempt on the 21-year-old but they were turned down.

Rennes signed the impressive winger from Metz in 2017 for a few of €17 million but his value has increased and will not have him sold for anything less than a €35m this summer window.

Arsenal lost out of the Champions League and failed to deliver the Europa League title last season. There is, therefore, a need to strengthen the team ahead of the coming season by adding up quality players to the squad.
