Why Ozil will struggle against Newcastle

Arsenal midfielder, Mesut Ozil has not enjoyed media praise in recent times owing to the issues relating to his untimely retirement from the national team and his unconvincing performance at the Emirates Stadium.

Few weeks before the World Cup, Ozil was pictured with Turkish president and that sparked controversies and bashing by the media, a development that was not well handled by the German football federation.

The poor outing by Germany at the Russia World Cup which led to an early exit of the team drew criticism with the Arsenal player at the receiving end.

This made him allege racial discrimination against him and alleged that he was being used as a scapegoat for Germany’s poor definition.

All the above adds to his unconvincing performance at Arsenal which has been picked up by the media as an issue to the Unai Emery’s will to deliver a new Arsenal.

With four games already gone, Arsenal returns from the international break and will be on the road to Newcastle for a test.

The demands on Ozil to deliver in the game might not be realized knowing that he will be going to a new terrain he has never been to.

Owing to injuries and other issues, the German has never played against Newcastle at the St James Park, a development that might have an impact on his performance.

It is now left for the fans to be patient yet again, knowing Ozil will be playing at the St James Park for the first time.
