Liverpool have debunked claims that Barcelona delegation are in England to thrash out a deal for Philippe Coutinho, according to reports.
The Brazilian attacker has been tipped to make a sensational move to Camp Nou to replace fellow Samba-native Neymar but Liverpool have insisted that the player is not for sale despite serious interest from Barca.
Prior reports suggested that Barcelona officials have flown to England to negotiate a deal with the Reds over a potential move for Coutinho.
It was understood that Liverpool board are ready to accept a mouth watering fee to sell off Coutinho to Barcelona against Jurgen Klopp’s wishes to keep the player who has been his star performer since he took over.
However, reports in the Goal.com claim that the Reds have moved to debunk speculation that they were close to agreeing on a deal to sell their playmaker and even insisted that they have not held any form of transfer negotiation with the Catalan giants over the sale of Coutinho.
Several outlets are reporting that the former Inter Milan star is open to a move Barcelona but will not rock the ship to force a switch and will wait for both clubs to agree amicably over a deal.
