Madrid Transfer Unlikely For Arsenal Star Due To Barcelona Links

Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderón has revealed that it is highly unlikely that Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, who has been heavily linked with the 11-time European champions, will make a move to the Santiago Bernebeu due to his ties with Spanish champions Barcelona having spent three years between 2011 and 2014 before sealing a transfer to Arsenal in a deal worth around £35m during the summer of 2014.

The former president was speaking to reporters as he added that he has already asked at Real Madrid about an interest in Sanchez and the answer was negative. In his words, he said: “He was playing with Barca as you know,’ he said. ‘I don’t think he will come back.

“Talking to Real, I don’t think they are thinking of a transfer or a signing.

“He’s a fantastic player and anyone will be willing to have him in the club.”

Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez has been heavily linked to various clubs apart from Real Madrid. European sides such as Juventus, Bayern Munich and Manchester City in addition to the Chinese Super League due to the fact that he has only 18 months left on his contract and interest is bound to increase in him due to his scintillating and outstanding form this season.
