Chelsea closing in on replacing Antonio Conte with 52-year-old Coach

According to British media reports, Premier League giants Chelsea are closing in on the naming of Laurent Blanc as their new head coach.

Chelsea keen on Frenchman

The Daily Express is claiming that Chelsea have their eyes firmly set on the 52-year-old tactician to become their next head coach as the rumour about current boss Antonio Conte’s situation linger.

As per the same report, discussions between Laurent Blanc and Blues Chief’s have progressed pretty well recently, and that the French tactician is preparing to come along with his former assistant at Marseille and Lille Franck Passi to West London as his number two if he is eventually appointed.

Chelsea dump Sarris’s talks

The same story states that the Blues turned to the Frenchman after refusing to pay the £7million release clause for Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri.

The report also states that the Stamford Bridge outfit are still yet to agree on terms with current boss Conte, who they will need to pay about £9million compensation fee.

Former Italy and Juventus boss Antonio Conte looks ready to leave the club despite having steered them to the Emirates FA Cup title in his second season in charge at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues ended up in fifth-spot on the English Premier League log as they missed out on Champions League qualification for next term.
