Liverpool Star Shocked The Fans With His Comments After Champions League Defeat

The Champions League final is gone for good, but Liverpool fans are yet to fully move past the unpleasant night at Kiev.

After everything, they eventually lost to Real Madrid. Of course, they gave their all for the game – but it wasn’t simply enough to stop Real Madrid from winning the Champions League the third time in a roll.

It ended 3-1. Real scored at first – all thanks to goalkeeper Loris Karius’ mistake that gifted Karim Benzema a good time.

Sadio Mane brought about a balance a few minutes later before Gareth Bale pushed Zinedine Zidane’s side ahead again with a superb overhead kick. The Welshman picked a brace after another mistake from Karius.

The Merseyside club fought hard to get back into the game, but they just couldn’t turn the tide around. They couldn’t stop the Madrid club from winning the elite tournament!

And speaking after the unfortunate defeat, Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk made some intelligent comments that got the attention of football lovers.

The Netherlands international told pressmen that his side should be proud of getting to the final of the competition and should ignore the fact that some rival clubs are happy they lost at Kiev.

According to the Dutchman, other clubs should simply be ‘jealous’ that they (Liverpool) could get into the final against all odds.

Spot on Van Dijk!
