€40m Rated Star: I Want To Play In The Premier League, Liverpool Obvious Destination

Schalke star player Leon Goretzka has been linked with a move away from the club in recent times following his links with a handful of top clubs across Europe including Liverpool and Barcelona.

Earlier this month, there were reports that Liverpool gave him an offer, but his heart is already set on moving to Barcelona.

However, new reports circulating in the media suggests the Anfield club are in fact closer to securing his signature.

Don Balon made it known that the Germany international has rejected the offer to join Barcelona because he wants to play in the Premier League.

It was also added that the 22-year-old midfielder is even likely to move to Liverpool in the winter transfer window.

This term, the talented midfielder featured in 9 Bundesliga games for his club and has scored 4 goals already.

A few months ago, he was part of the German national team that won the Confederations Cup in Russia.

The report also added that the reds could seal the deal with something in the region of €40million, while Barcelona will pay Liverpool over €180million to bring Phillipe Coutinho to Camp Nou.

Although Leon will be out of contract at the end of this season, one of the reasons Liverpool are said to be interested in bringing him over to Anfield in January is because of the Champions League.
