Chelsea Legend hand Antonio Conte transfer advice ahead of winter

Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard wants to see his former side sign in a new forward in the winter transfer window.

The Premier League Champions are likely to be connected with a number of players in the coming weeks as the winter transfer window approaches and offers Chelsea tactician Antonio Conte an opportunity to strengthen his squad.

Spain international forward Alvaro Morata has been in top form in attack for the Blues this campaign since signing for Chelsea from La Liga giant Real Madrid back in the summer window.

However, Chelsea also decided to let Spain international striker Diego Costa depart the West London club in the summer transfer window and Frank Lampard believes that Chelsea could do with signing a forward to back up Alvaro Morata in January.

The Blues return to English Premier League duty on Saturday with a vital encounter against Merseyside giant Liverpool at Anfield Stadium.

The Premier League Champions head into the clash fresh from having qualified for the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League with a thrilling 4-0 victory over Qarabag on Wednesday.

Antonio Conte’s men are currently in third position in the English top flight table and nine points adrift Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City after 12 matches of the new season.
