Nigerians dominate Arsenal’s Premier League team list

With the summer transfer window already closed, Arsenal like other clubs submitted their Premier League squad list for the season.

The list have, however, caught attention for being dominated by Nigerian internationals either at the first team level or at the U21 level.

Alex Iwobi tops the list of the players and has been named as a homegrown player having passed through the club’s academy before winning the heart of former manager, Arsene Wenger who introduced him to first-team football.

The next big name of the Nigeria decent after Iwobi is Eddie Nketiah. He has been named in the first-team and is expected to see some games, especially in the Carabao Cup and Europa League group stages.

Others who have been listed by manager Emery are, Ryan Alebiousu, Xavier Amaechi, Folarin Balogun, Tolaji Bola, Arthur Okonkwo, James Olayinka, Joseph Olowu, Tobi Omole and Bukayo Saka.
