Why Ed Wardwood didn’t support Jose Mourinho in his bid to sign a centre back

While Chelsea had a great success over the weekend, the same can’t be said about Man United as they suffered a huge 3 – 2 defeat in the hands of newcomers, Brighton at Amex Stadium.

However, the loss seems to have tick something about Coach Jose Mourinho wanting to add a new centre back defender to the team but the Red Devils board refused to give him the right support.

During the recently concluded summer transfer window, most of the players Mourinho was linked with were mostly Centre back defenders, they include the likes Harry Maguire, Toby, Yerry Mina, Jerome Boateng and a host lot of others but none of these deal materialized.

Man Utd board went on to give reasons for their refusal to sign the players as they made it known that Man Utd is stockpiled with defenders.

Well, apart from the board support, One of Machester United officials, Ed Woodward, who is in charge of transfer refused to support Mourinho move to bring in new defenders as Mourinho had made the club spend Ā£60 million on Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailey as the two didn’t put up much performance for the Red Devils.

And with Jose Mourinho likely to leave by December, there is no need adding new players.
