Manchester United have officially announced that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be the new manager of the club from immediate effect.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be replacing manager Jose Mourinho who was sacked about 48 hours ago as a result of the bad results he had had so far in the season which leaves them in sixth position with little hope of Champions League qualification.
Under former manager Mourinho, United conceded 29 goals in 17 matches and lost about 5 games with 5 draws in the Premier League which is one of the worst the club has ever had in their history.
However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is a former player and was loved in his playing days has been handed with the responsibility to change the fate of the club this season.
This includes the knockout stage of the Champions League clash against French Side Paris Saint Germain in February and March next year as well as ensuring a top four finish.
However, he will have his first test in a Premier League game against Cardiff City this weekend before making use of the entire second-half of the season to do the needful.
As a player, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scored 91 goals for Manchester United between 1996 -2007.
