Chelsea Hold Managerial Talks With Maurizio Sarri Replacement

West London giants Chelsea have held talks with one of their former players as the search for who to replace current manager Maurizio Sarri continues.

Italian tactician Sarri and some of his backroom staff are said to be homesick according to The Sun and they are keen to return to Serie A champions Juventus.

The managerial talks with Frank Lampard were held amidst talks that the majority of the Chelsea fanbase want the former midfielder back to Stamford Bridge in a managerial capacity.

He’s the number one candidate to replace Sarri who will leave Chelsea for Juventus after one season with the West Londoners.

The former Empoli and Napoli manager was often criticised during his one-year stay in West London but he was still able to meet with the club’s targets of returning to Champions League football for next season.

Sarri and Chelsea finished the latest Premier League season as the third best team thus sealing a Champions League spot.

In addition, Sarri also won the Europa League trophy for his first title as a manager.

Chelsea defeated London rivals Arsenal 4-1 in their final clash in Baku last month to take the title.

Chelsea and Sarri also reached the Carabao Cup final before they were beaten on penalties by Premier League champions Manchester City.
