Manchester United have encountered a major setback in their race to sign Porto centre-back /defensive midfielder Eder Militao as his agent confirmed the player his staying with the Portuguese club for the rest of the season.

According to Militao’s agent Giuliano Bertolucci, the Brazilian is not concerned about rumours linking him with a move to either United or Real Madrid at the ongoing transfer window.

It was reported during the week that Solskjaer is interested in the 24-year-old midfielder and he wants his employers to make a swift move for his signature.

Manchester Evening revealed on Tuesday that the Norwegian wants Fred to convince his compatriot to join the Old Trafford outfits as soon as possible.

In the same vein, Spanish media El Gol Digital reported on Thursday that ‘ the player has reached a verbal agreement with Real Madrid’ and the Galacticos could complete his signing before the end of the month.

However, Giuliano Bertolucci has denied all of the reports as he said they were false rumours. According to him, his client isn’t planning to leave the Portuguese side and he’s committed to Porto.

“There is no possibility of the player leaving his current club in the winter market,” he told AS on Friday

Meanwhile, Manchester United are hoping to continue their fine run of results when they tackle Brighton at home on Saturday.

The Red Devils were 1-0 winners over Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, thanks to Marcus Rashford’s goal and David De Gea’s heroic display throughout the encounter.

Solskjaer has seen his side recorded six straight wins since he replaced José Mourinho last month and he has charged his men to get the job done against the inconsistent Seagulls.
