Man United Set To Lure Umtiti With Huge Wages

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is trying to bring a creative player into his team, and he has been linked with the likes of Mesut Ozil and Arthur Melo.

However, it appears the Portuguese tactician is more focused on constantly improving his defence department.

Last year, the former Chelsea boss signed Ivorian defender Eric Bailly from Villareal, and he also splashed some cash to lure Swedish international Victor Lindelof from Benfica this summer.

Lindelof has however not been in good form this term, and there are speculations Mourinho now wants to sign another central defender.

Dario Gol claimed Jose’s number 1 target is Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, and that he is determined to reunite the player with him at Old Trafford, after working together back then at the Spanish capital.

But since Varane is now a first-team regular at Real Madrid, it is understood that the Champions League winners won’t want to sell him, and Man United are now focusing their efforts on Barcelona’s Umtiti.

Umtiti joined Barcelona last season and is a first-team regular at Camp Nou. His current contract expires in 2021, with a release clause of €60million.

Now, here is the main catch.

Diario Gol also said Umtiti does not earn a huge salary as compared to some other top players at Barcelona. Manchester United can take advantage of this to lure the player into Old Trafford with the promises of huge wages.
