Real Madrid have finally ended their pursuit of Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea this summer, according to reports.
The 26-year-old has repeatedly been linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu and almost got his move during the transfer window in 2015 if not for a fax machine error.
The Spaniard is believed to have held talks with Real Madrid over a potential move and told the club he will join them this season.
United were understood to have braced up for the exit of De Gea and had started looking for replacements for the keeper but those talks broke down due to the reluctance of Real Madrid to sell Alvaro Morata to United.
However, the Champions League holders were said to have continued their pursuit of David De Gea which was evident after a host of Madrid players crowded the goalie after a preseason game in the United States.
Reports in Express Sport now have it that De Gea has told Manchester United that he will be staying at the club this summer, blocking out a summer move to Real.
United boss Jose Mourinho was said to have considered Leicester City keeper Kasper Schemeichel and AC Milan goalie Gianluigi Donnarumma as ideal replacement for the Spaniard
