Premier League legend Rio Ferdinand has told Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to secure the signing of two “leaders” in defence and midfield for the team in the summer window.

Stumbling Gunners

The north London outfit have been in stuttering shape in the League this campaign and they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Spurs in Saturday’s derby encounter at Wembley.

The Gunners are now looking unlikely to end in the League’s top four this term, leaving UEFA Europa League crown as their most likely way back into the UEFA Champions League for next campaign.

Winter spending spree

Arsenal spent hugely on strengthening their attacking line in the winter transfer window with the acquisition of both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Armenian Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

However, Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand feels that Arsenal have not addressed the major problems in the spine of their squad in recent windows.

Gunners prepare for Europa clash

The Gunners will take on Swedish side Ostersund in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League last 32 encounter on Thursday.

The north London outfit have not won the English Premier League title since their unbeaten success in the 2003-04 season.

Aaron Ramsey

Emerging report hints that Wales international and Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey would be announced as a Juventus player on Friday.

The former Cardiff City star is reported to have agreed on personal terms with the club as he is set to earn the sum of £7.5 million a season from the Old Lady, in addition to the five years deal that was also agreed.

However, reports from Italy claim that all has not been sorted between the Turin side and the North London side as Juventus are not willing to meet with the £20 million demand from the Gunners for the star player.

The report claims that the Old Lady will make an attempt to convince the North London outfit into having a change of mind in the price so that it can be affordable.

However, the Italian Serie A champions will be left with no choice than to make use of their second option of returning for the player in the summer window should Arsenal fail to come down with the price.

A number of top European sides including Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Liverpool have all come knocking for the Wales international but it is obvious he has settled to be with the Old Lady.

Emiliano Martinez

Arsenal are set to part ways with their third choice goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The reports claim that he is being linked with a move to Leeds United as they are desperate to land him as their first choice goalkeeper.

Although, the Yorkshire side do not have Emiliano Martinez as their only option as they seek to lure former Real Madrid goalkeeper Kiko Casilla as they are desperate to land any of the available options and for the best fee.

However, Emiliano Martinez became the third choice at the club following the loan move of David Ospina and the coming of Bernd Leno from German Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.

The German goalkeeper ended up becoming the first choice ahead of experienced former Chelsea Petr Cech who is now second in the ranking.

However, the Gunners are still battling to find their feet in the goalkeeping department with pundits having the opinion that the former Chelsea stopper remains the best that the club have got at the moment

The North London side have not been having it all good in recent time as they have not had a consistent result in their last five games.

Ismaila Sarr

The North London outfit Arsenal have made it clear that they do not have enough funds to sign players in this winter transfer window but will rather have players join on loan with the hope of finalizing a deal in the coming winter transfer window.

Despite that, Gunners manager Unai Emery is still making efforts to see how he can convince the club for a deal as he makes his interest in French Ligue 1 outfit Rennes star Ismaila Sarr known.

The North London boss is desperate to land the star player before the transfer window runs out as he wishes to close the gap between his side and the West London outfit Chelsea, who are in the fourth position.

The Spanish boss has lost England International Danny Welbeck which is the reason why he is keen on the signature of the French Ligue 1 player.

So far this season, Ismaila Sarr has scored 8 goals in 24 games and has shown the potential that he can improve and impress at the English league.

Yannick Carrasco

Arsenal are interested in Yannick Carrasco’s services but the club is financially disabled to finalize their move for the Belgian star.

According to the Sun, Arsenal manager Unai Emery is unhappy with his team’s current run of results and he’s told his employers to get him some world-class players who would help bolster every department of his team, especially at the back.

Despite the manager’s call for a new addition, it’s believed that Sven Mislintant might fail to meet his demands as he’s struggling to raise fund for any deal at the ongoing transfer window.

Instead, the club’s hierarchy is set to be engaged in many loan deals. The Sun claimed that Barcelona’s want-away midfielder Denis Suarez is the Gunners main target but the North London club are only planning a six-month loan deal.

As for Carrasco, the Dalian Yifang’s playmaker/ winger is ready to join the Gunners as revealed by his wife but the Premier League outfits are equally set to offer him a six-month loan deal.

Meanwhile, latest rumors suggest that Emery is willing to help the club raise money as he has offered Mesut Ozil to two Serie A sides Juventus and AC Milan.

The former Sevilla and Paris St-German boss isn’t contended with the German’s work-rate on the field of play, hence, he wants to cash-in on his signature before the end of the January transfer market.

Should he successfully sanction the player’s sale to any of the two clubs, The Mirror said he will invest the money realized in Carrasco’s signature.
