Premier League legend Rio Ferdinand has told Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to secure the signing of two “leaders” in defence and midfield for the team in the summer window.
Stumbling Gunners
The north London outfit have been in stuttering shape in the League this campaign and they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Spurs in Saturday’s derby encounter at Wembley.
The Gunners are now looking unlikely to end in the League’s top four this term, leaving UEFA Europa League crown as their most likely way back into the UEFA Champions League for next campaign.
Winter spending spree
Arsenal spent hugely on strengthening their attacking line in the winter transfer window with the acquisition of both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Armenian Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
However, Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand feels that Arsenal have not addressed the major problems in the spine of their squad in recent windows.
Gunners prepare for Europa clash
The Gunners will take on Swedish side Ostersund in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League last 32 encounter on Thursday.
The north London outfit have not won the English Premier League title since their unbeaten success in the 2003-04 season.
However, The Emirates club have won the Emirates FA Cup in three of the last four years.
