Liverpool Attacker Bags Premier League Player Award

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has been rewarded for his superb form for the Reds in the Premier League for the month of March.

The Senegalese international star was named the Premier League Player of the Month for March after netting three goals in four games.

Mane has been a key performer for Liverpool this season in their quest for honours in two major competitions.

He was named the award recipient ahead of Liverpool teammate Andy Robertson, Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva, Southampton star James Ward-Prowse, Everton defender Seamus Coleman and Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.

Sadio Mane started the month of March in the Premier League by firing blanks in the Merseyside Derby at the Goodison Park which ended in a goalless draw.

He went on to score two goals for his team as a come back from conceding a controversial goal to beat Burnley 4-2 at home.

Sadio Mane then scored the opening goal in the 2-1 win over Fulham away from home before failing to score in the final game of the month, a 2-1 home win over top four chasers Tottenham Hotspur.

In total, Sadio Mane has scored 17 goals in the league this season.

Only Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero (19 goals) and Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah have scored more.
