Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal has revealed that though he will not mind moving to Atletico Bilboa in the future he is not thinking of leaving the gunners anytime soon.
The Mirror reports that for some time there have been speculations claiming the left back will be leaving Arsenal very soon to join Atletico Bilboa. Monreal has come out to deny such reports and has pledged his immediate future to the North London club.
The Spanish International made his move to London in 2013 and has appeared 140 times for the gunners. He is presently Arsenal’s first choice left back and so far has played in 10 of the clubs 11 matches in the premier league this season and has only missed the 4-1 victory over Sunderland because of a thigh injury and will be a major part of manager Arsene Wenger’s plans as Arsenal seek to win titles.
Speaking to Radio Euskadi on his possible move to the La Liga outfit, the 30-year-old said
“I have great affection for Athletic but I think only about the present, not what could happen in the future. Although I am keeping all my options open. I have some good friends already at the club such as Raul Garcia”.
Squawka also reports that even though Monreal is leaving his options open including making a move later in his career to Spain, he is not leaving Arsenal now.
“I do not close the door to anyone and especially to Athletic because i have spoken beautifully about that club. Now, however, I’m not thinking about bidding farewell to Arsenal.”
