Arsenal sold Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United few days back, but they were able to replace him with Armenian playmaker Herinkh Mkhitaryan.
Mkhitaryan, though talented, struggled at Old Trafford before making the switch that brought him to North London. And it appears Arsene Wenger does not fully trust the Armenian, as there are new reports his side are interested in signing another playmaker.
It was made known that the North Londoners have been put on red alert over the availability of Keita Balde.
The Senegalese joined Monaco last summer, but his talents caught the attention of some other top clubs who are ready to get his signature.
He has also been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Napoli – and it was suggested the Italian club are keen on acquiring his services.
The 22-year-old is a versatile player who can effectively play anywhere in the attacking third – although he mainly starts at the left wing.
Last season, when the African star was still with Lazio, he played 31 Serie A games for the club and scored 16 goals with 5 assists to his teammates.
This season so far at Monaco, he has made 24 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 champions and has scored 5 goals with 9 assists.
