Roman Abramovich – David Luiz is Chelsea’s next captain, claims football pundit

According to Ian McGarry, a former Journalist, Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich sees Brazilian David Luiz as a future captain at Chelsea.

The Chelsea centre-half found himself making the headlines earlier in the month when Italian tactician Antonio Conte decided to drop him for Chelsea’s home tie against Premier League side Manchester United at the Bridge before the FIFA international break.

David Luiz was left out of the team completely as Antonio Conte’s team sealed a 1-0 English Premier League win over Jose Mourinho’s side on home soil.

The transfer was claimed to have come after the Brazilian reportedly questioned Antonio Conte’s tactics ahead of the match, but the defender has since returned to full training with his teammates at Chelsea’s Cobham training base recently.

However, Ex- journalist McGarry states that Blues owner Roman Abramovich won’t be glad about Antonio Conte’s latest stance to drop David Luiz, because the Centre-half is one of his favourite players at the West London club.

The former PSG star could be prepared to make his return to Chelsea’s first team squad Chelsea when they travel to West Brom in the English Premier League on Saturday.

The London team head into the match looking to close up the gap to Manchester City, who are nine points ahead of Chelsea after 11 games of the new season.
