The defensive midfielder beat the poll of the 340-strong membership ahead of his team-mate at Chelsea Eden Hazard, with Spurs star player Dele Alli in third place.
Kanté came to Chelsea last summer from Leicester City in a deal worth £32 million after helping the club win their dramatic premier league title to the awe of the world.
He has been instrumental in Chelsea’s impressive displays this season and look set to winning the premier league title consecutively, his second one in his second year at the premier league.
And the France international speaking on the award, expressed that it is a fantastic honour to be appointed winner and it is a very proud moment in his career.
Later this month, the France international will receive the prestigious FWA accolade at a gala dinner in London when they mark their 70th anniversary.
