Mourinho Appears To Single Out This Player As Cause For Draw Against Stoke

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is obviously not pleased after his side couldn’t get the full three points against Stoke City on Saturday, and he seemed to single out Phil Jones for his poor performance in the 2-2 tie.

Man United dropped their first points of the new term against Stoke even though they were leading 2-1 in the second half of the clash.

Jose Mourinho feels his side deserves a win as they dominated the game. And even though he was critical of the Potters defensive approach as well, he wasn’t happy his men couldn’t stop Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting from equalising before full-time.

Defender Phi Jones was at fault for the goal, and the Portuguese manager said some of his players were not at their usual form after making their return from the international break.

Speaking to BT Sport after the draw, Jose points to different reasons he thinks pushed the game into becoming a difficult one. The former Chelsea manager also feels the stadium they played in is such a difficult one, and then appeared to throw some dig at Jones.

“After the international break we are not the same. It is [quite] easy to see some [of the] players were not performing at their normal level.” the boss said.

Jones sure didn’t have his best game against the Potters, and he will need to work hard to convince the manager to keep believing in him for other games.
