Confirmed! Liverpool set to complete deal for 22-year-old attacker – Sky Sports

Lazar Markovic

Sky Sports News football expert Dharmesh Sheth has claimed Premier League side Liverpool are likely to sell Lazar Markovic this summer window.

The Serbian has heavily struggled to make an impact at Anfield since his £20million transfer under former boss Brendan Rodgers back in 2014.

Struggle to impress
He netted twice in 19 matches in his debut season in England in an underwhelming first season in the Premier League.

The Reds sent out Lazar Markovic on loan to Turkish side Fenerbahce in the 2015-16 campaign and he scored twice in 20 encounters across all competitions.

The Serbian wide man netted a goal in six matches in the Portuguese League to struggle to perform well away from Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp allowed him to spend the second stanza of the 2016-17 campaign on loan at Hull to get first-team match experience in the English topflight.

Markovic, 23, has returned to Anfield from his short spell in the Belgian league with top side Anderlecht but heavily struggled to impress there also.

Departure confirmed
The Sky Sports News reporter feels the Serbian will de[p[art the club in the 2018 summer.
The Merseysider’s finished in fourth spot in the English Premier League log last term to ensure their participation in the Champions League.
