Manchester United Set To Snatch Gelson Martins From Liverpool’s Grip

Sporting star player Gelson Martins has emerged as a target for Liverpool this summer.

And according to new reports from Portugal, the Anfield club will launch a €50 million (£43.7m) bid for the talented player.

Popular Portuguese outlet A Bola are reporting that the Reds have already had an offer in the region of €40m (£35m) turned down by Martins’ club.

However, the premier league club are going to make a renewed effort to sign the Portuguese player with a bid that is close to his €60m (£52.5m) release clause.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s side are not going to get the 22-year-old’s signature without a fight as it was reported last week, premier league rival Manchester United have also entered the race to sign the Portugal international.

It is understood that Man United’s Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho is also on the lookout for a new winger to bolster his squad ahead of his return to the Champions League next term.

Gelson Martins was one of Sporting’s best players last term as he scored six times and provided nine assists in 32 league appearances for the club.

Both Man United and Liverpool will be playing in the Champions League next season, and we look forward to what Martins decision would be.
