Since last month, it has been heavily reported that Jose Mourinho is looking to sign a new central defender when the winter transfer window comes. One super defender that has been linked with a move to Manchester United is Benfica defender Victor Lindelof.
Nevertheless, there are indications that the deal to bring the Swedish defender into Old Trafford is not going as smoothly as expected. Therefore, new sources revealed that the red devils are now interested in signing Roma star Kosatas Manolas.
The Sun reported that United boss Jose Mourinho has moved in with an offer of €38million to agree the signing of the Greek center-back.
In last year’s summer transfer window, United tendered their interest of signing Manolas who is regarded as one of the best defenders in the Serie A. But unfortunately, Roma did not want to sell the 25-year old, so nothing happened. However, Goal claimed his club placed a tag price of €45million on him.
Additionally, the Sun said further that still yet, The Giallorossi are still not prepare to sell the player. So, it shouldn’t be surprising if Roma reject the offer and United should meet the asking price to sign the highly rated star.This season so far, Kostas Manolas has played fifteen league games for his club and has provided one assist.
