Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has hinted he will prefer a move to Manchester United ahead of Chelsea.
The Blues are believed to be monitoring the Turkish midfielder as Antonio Conte looks to shove his squad following the exit of Oscar and Mikel Obi to the Chinese Super League.
The 22-year-old midfielder has been one of the names mentioned to join the Blues but he has now revealed he will find it hard to turn down the opportunity to join the Red Devils in the transfer window.
‘Barcelona and Manchester United are huge clubs it would be different to turn them down but I have not said anything about any transfers or anything of the sort,’ Calhanoglu told Lig TV.
Calhanoglu is famed for his ability from set pieces and can play in a number of attacking positions behind a main striker.
The Blues boss is said to be a long-term admirer of the midfielder and might attempt to lure him to the Stamford Bridge.
In related transfer news, reports in the Guardian claims that Chelsea have been told to whip out a sum between £30m-£34m for Franck Kessie, with deal set to go down the wire or maybe next summer.
The 20-year-old Ivorian has been a subject of interest from a host of clubs in Europe due to his energy and physicality.
