Man United Miss Out On Move For ‘African Messi’ For The Second Time

Manchester United have missed out of the chance to sign Stoke City starlet, Ramadan Sobhi.

The 20-year-old is highly regarded in native Egypt due to his pace and dribbling skills and has been tipped to make huge success in the Premier League following his move from Al Ahly to the Potteries last summer.

United boss Jose Mourinho is understood to have watched Sobhi for quite sometime and would have swooped for him even before the winger chose to join Stoke City in 2016 as per reports in the Sun.

However, the Red Devils’ hopes of luring the ‘Egyptian Messi’ to Old Trafford this summer have been dashed after the winger signed a new five-year deal to remain at the bet365 stadium for a longer period.

Although, Ramadan Sobhi was not a hit at Stoke City last season, making just one assist in 19 appearances last term as the Potteries floundered in the Premier League last season, but has been tipped to make more appearances this season as they hope to better their performances in the league.

The witty Egyptian will have to compete with Swiss winger, Xherdan Shaqiri for a place on the flanks or get relegated to the bench next season.

What also remains whether Mourinho will be keen in a potential with little experience in the Premier League.
