Alexandre Lacazette

Arsenal’s record £52m signing from Lyon, Alex Lacazette took just 90 seconds to open his goal account for his new club.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger gave the Frenchman his full club debut in their English Premier League opening match against Leicester City. Lacazette wasted no time, as he connected perfectly with a cross with a stooping header past Leicester City shot-stopper Kasper Schmeichel.

The France international striker had clearly heeded to the instructions of Arsene Wenger ahead of the match, as the Arsenal boss challenged his new striker to score a goal a match in the English Premier League.

As the Gunners look to retain their place in the UEFA Champions League, Arsene Wenger hopes Frenchman Lacazette settles properly in England as quickly as Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic did after leaving Paris Saint Germain for Manchester United last season.

The Arsenal new-boy has now joined an elite club at the North London club by becoming the 5th player to score on their English Premier League debut for the Emirate club under French tactician Arsene Wenger.

With what will surely be the first of many, he joins club elite like Freddie Ljungberg, Samir Nasri, Emmanuel Adebayor, and Thomas Vermaelen in doing so in the Arsene Wenger era.
