Major Injury boost for Chelsea as two more Roma players go down injured ahead of UCL clash

According to reports coming from Italy, two more AS Roma players sustained injuries in yesterday’s Italian Serie A match. In Roma’s 1-0 loss both Gregoire Defrel and Bruno Peres were forced out with lower-body problems, and are now doubtful for their encounter against Premier League Champions Chelsea on Tuesday night.

At the 59th moment, Gregoire Defrel got injured with an ankle problem. He was substituted for Diego Perotti, whom Roma boss Eusebio Di Francesco had hoped to hand a rest ahead to their UEFA Champions League match. The Frenchman, who has had to cope with a rough start to his playing career in Italy, and has drawn criticized by many fans, was left on the bench, with ice wrapped around his ankle, and looked totally dejected.

Bruno Peres was forced off only 10 minutes after with a right leg injury, which looks to be muscular in nature. Hector Moreno came in for him and played the remained of the game.

As for the Brazilian, the injury comes at a difficult and wrong time. After struggling greatly in his debut Serie A season last campaign, his struggles continued this term and his playing chances looked to be reduced with the injury return of Rick Karsdorp. However, the Netherland international tore his ACL in his injury return and is sidelined for a minimum of four months, which opened a place for Bruno Peres.

A further medical examination will be conducted later today, and we should know whether they will make the game against Chelsea.
