Man United Set To Sign Star Player With £30 Million

Jose Mourinho is keen on bringing new players into his team when the January transfer window comes, to enhance his chances of beating his rivals to the premier league trophy this season.

And if the latest reports in the media are anything to go by, then the Portuguese tactician is looking to get the signature of a defender.

According to Express, Manchester United are set to move in with an offer worth £30 million to sign Thomas Meunier from Paris Saint-Germain.

The report mentioned that the Belgian defender is now behind Samba star Dani Alves in the pecking order at the French club, and now wants a move away from Paris for regular first team action elsewhere.

The 26-year-old has made 19 appearances for his country’s senior side and is looking towards earning a place in the team for the next year’s World Cup at Russia.

Thomas has been in brilliant form this term mainly in the attacking third. In 6 Ligue I starts, the Belgium international has scored 3 times and provided 2 assists. However, he hasn’t gotten any chance to play in the Champions League so far this season, as the club’s boss prefer Alves in his place.

Veteran star player Antonio Valencia is the first choice right back currently at Old Trafford, but the player is expected to hang his boot anytime soon.

And in such a case, Meunier will be the best man to succeed Valencia at the club.
