Liverpool Plan Big Money Summer Move For La Liga Powerhouse

Liverpool are considering a mega summer move for Real Madrid midfielder, James Rodriguez, according to reports in Spain.

Respected Spanish football analyst Guillem Balague has claimed that the Reds are eyeing a summer raid for the Rodriguez but admits the Colombian is more likely to join their league rivals, Chelsea or Manchester United as the midfielder views them as a bigger club than Liverpool at the moment.

Balague also reported that several European clubs are also monitoring Rodriguez’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu.

When asked about the chances of Liverpool signing the 25-year-old, he said in his column on Sky Sports:  “Of course they are, but they aren’t the only one. Liverpool are realistic and I think they realise James is looking for a different type of team.

“But he is leaving the door open to all possibilities because he knows Real Madrid want to get rid of him. He would like to go to a club like Chelsea or Manchester United and he has offers from England and Italy but we will have to wait and see.”

The former AS Monaco star joined Real Madrid in 2014 for an astonishing £63million after his impressive display at the World Cup in Brazil but the Colombian has not been convincing, scoring 40 goals and 30 assists in 102 appearances for the Spanish giants.
