Liverpool asked to cough out world record transfer fee to land Karius replacement

According to media reports, Merseyside giant Liverpool will have to pay a world transfer record fee for a shot-stopper to seal a deal for AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

Liverpool want Roma goalkeeper

The Guardian is claiming that Italian Serie A heavyweights AS Roma are ready to demand £79million for the Brazil international goalkeeper in the 2018 summer window.

The same report says that the Italian side are reluctant to lose the safe hand to Liverpool this summer transfer window considering his rising status.

As per the same report, Roma hope that their valuation will scare off Liverpool and provide the Serie A club with the chance to give Alisson a new contract.

Indeed, the UEFA Champions League semi-finalists are believed to be set to hand the Brazil international goalkeeper a £1.3million pay rise.

Alisson now Brazil first choice

The Liverpool target has managed to oust Ederson of Manchester City as Brazil’s first choice goalkeeper ahead of the FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The Reds were 7-6 winners against Roma in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals to seal their place in the Champions League final.
