Man United guarding “this prolific target” from other suitors

Kalidou Koulibaly

It is reported that Manchester United’s interest in Italian Serie A outfit Napoli central defender Kalidou Koulibaly is increasing and they are monitoring him to be sure he is not snapped by other suitors.

Kalidou Koulibaly has been on the radar of the Red Devils for a long time with their former manager Jose Mourinho making an attempt in last summer’s window but he did not have the backing of the club’s board.

Napoli chief had confessed that the Portuguese boss had made inquiry of the star player but they were not ready to part ways with him as well.

However, the Red Devils seem to be more serious than ever with new interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer taking over the interest for the player from his predecessor.

The latest report claims that the Red Devils are now willing to meet with the asking price of £90 million that was tabled by the Italian side as they wish to strengthen their defence ahead of next season.

However, Kalidou Koulibaly has reacted to the interest in him from the Red Devils stating that he is delighted but will not be carried away as he is still a Napoli player.

Suggestions are that Napoli will cash in on Kalidou Koulibaly should the Red Devils pay the £90 asking price for the player.
